We are a place created out of passion for outdoors and nature. We are people for whom outdoors is the way of life. We are mountain climbers, skiers, divers and anglers. We ventured with expeditions to Patagonia, Mali, Madagascar, Causacus and Tien-Szan, we climbed in the Alps, Himalayas and we even stormed K2 in winter. We are experts in our fields and so we created this place in a true ski touring paradise to share our knowledge and passion with you – our guests.
Lyngen Outdoor Center is located in the eastern part of Uløya Island, in the far north of Norway, 500 km beyond the Arctic Circle. Uløya is a special place – it’s remote, quiet, it’s out of the way. It’s immersed in the amazing surrounding of the beautiful mountains and crystal-clear fjords, including the famous Lyngen Fjord. Being here you get a chance chance to practice a wide range of activities and sports. But first of all you feel as if on another planet enjoying one of the best ski touring venues on Earth. A venue that simply leaves you speechless…
You find us in a place called Uløybukt, 100m from the ferry port of the same name. The only road on this part of the island leads straight to us. You can reach us by a regular free-of-charge ferry (see ferries timetable under access section).
Discover Cozy & Comfortable Lyngen Lodge and Kågen Lodge Rooms
We offer a comfortably furnished two-story large Lyngen Lodge and a separate small Kågen Lodge both located 50 metres from the water line. The Lyngen Outdoor Center lodges in Norway offer everything you would need for winter sports or boating and fishing trips with friends, including a drying room for equipment.
We prepare outstanding cuisine – a fusion of local tradition and international spice. We will serve you amazing moose and reindeer, fresh fish, outstanding quality local pork, freshly picked mussels, unforgettable starters and irresistible desserts. You will taste our home-made soups and freshly baked bread. All in amounts adequate to meet skiers’ apetite.
Gear up for your best Ski Adventure!
At our lodge, you can rent top-quality skis and avalanche safety gear. Try our carbon Majesty Supernova (102 mm) and Warewolf skis – super versatile, light, and easy to handle. The legendary ZAG Ubacs (102 and 89) are loved by ski tourers everywhere, excelling in all conditions and an absolute joy to ride. And for those who like it classic, the Dynafit Tour rounds out our collection perfectly.
For your safety, we also provide complete avalanche kits (ABC sets) from BCA.
There is also a fleet of modern aluminum boats and a large-sized pier, belonging to the property, reaching out approx. 50m into the sea. A comfortable floating bridge allows for safe and easy docking.
The surrounding Lyngen Alps offer world-class ski touring terrain, making Lyngen Alps skiing a bucket-list experience for winter sports enthusiasts. Whether you’re carving through fresh powder or exploring remote alpine routes, the region delivers both challenge and charm in equal measure.
